Overall, I would say that Battlefield 4 is by far a better game if you're a Battlefield veteran you'd like BF4. Then again, as mentioned before, you should check the player count for those games. Battlefield 4 is bigger, more tactic while I feel that Battlefield 1 focus on more infantry warfare.
