Can you be an immortal and a shadow?

Also you can join both, per say. Joining shadows is far easier, get signet, get in. Get invited by a clan, have 30 people donate signets, become a dark clan aka shadow. A person can only be recruited to join the Immortals when they are still an adventurer and not in a clan.
