What is the difference between free to play and dlc destiny 2?

If you play as a free to play you can only play the New light "campaign", playlist strikes, crucible, prophecy dungeon and a very limited amount of Nightfall strikes. The DLCs give you access to their campaigns, exotics quests, dungeons, exclusive activities and loot, raids and respective DLC nightfall strikes.
