In Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion, Nintendo will allow players to choose a gender. The option is presented at the start of the campaign. Of course, the gender option carries over to multiplayer as well. Once the DLC launches, you'll be able to choose between male and female version of the Octolings or Inklings.

She's an Octarian, but she's not an enemy in this expansion and if you succeed at completing all 80 missions being an octopus (and not a squid) you'll be able to play as an Octarian in the multiplayer part of the game.

The player has beat all a phase to move on to another, if the player dies enough times, you have the choice to skip the phase. However, if you choose to skip the phases, or haven't paid off your debt, you won't be able to unlock the secret boss.
