soul torch and soul lantern now stop all mob spawning. ever had a slim chunk in your underground mine or base. now instead of having to carpet or slab the area to stop them spawning you can place soul torches or soul lanterns around to stop all mob spawning works on grass animals, nether mobs.

Torches will never burn out--they last forever. Torches can be attached to most solid surfaces by right-clicking on said surface with a torch equipped. However, some surfaces will not accept a torch (Glass for example).
