Go through the unlocked passage, and you'll find an elevator. Ride the elevator up, and you'll find yourself in the Lower Pit. A cutscene will play, and Ermac will fall from the Upper Pit and be impaled on spikes. Examine his corpse, and you'll get Ermac's Amulet.
