Is bloodborne a good first souls game?

While the beginning will be rough, bloodborne has much smoother combat and is very fair when it comes to dodging. It was my first souls game and when I got a hang of the combat, the game became sooo satisfying. Also, rally makes the game less punishing than other souls games.
