How do you use the hydra plane in gta 5?

Just use the right arrow on the d pad to switch from hovering and flying. Its pretty straightforward from there. I mean, I only flew in the hydra two times in the heist with it, but it felt just like any other jet. I don't know why you're having trouble with it.
