Mega Man's nickname, "The Blue Bomber", was coined in Nintendo Power issue #7. The title is largely assumed to be a nod to the blue player, "Blue Bomber", from the 1964 classic action game "Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots". Mattel owns the trademark to "Blue Bomber" to this very day.
