Are ETS2 mods legal? As has already been mentioned, modding and selling trade names is illegal, unless they have a license with SCS and the company -that's being plagiarised. Selling mods is also illegal unless -again- they have a trade agreement with SCS.

Any Mods you create for the Game from scratch belong to you (including pre-run Mods and in-memory Mods) and you can do whatever you want with them, as long as you don't sell them for money / try to make money from them and so long as you don't distribute Modded Versions of the Game.

Why are my ets2 mods not working?
You have to go back to the old version until your mods are updated, or turn off your mods. Your mods probably aren't compatible with the new version yet. I think in order to switch back to the older version, you can just right click ETS2 in steam, click properties, then go to the beta tab.
