Is final fantasy 10 and 7 in the same universe?

You see, Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 10 apparently take place in the same universe. In FF7 Remake, it's all to do with this little photo found in the background of one area of the game. The connection goes back further than that, however. Like we said, it goes way back to 2003.

The tenth entry in the franchise is a very good game based on the review scores, but it does lack a punch of difficulty the original games were known for. There are optional quests in-game that carry some difficulty, but the main game itself is pretty much painless.

No, it is not. They are in entirely different universe. Actually all previous FF series are each has different theme until Fabula Nova Crystallis (FF13, FF Agito/Awakening, Type-0, FF15). Even so, Fabula Nova Crystallis is just a theme and not exactly the same universe.

Do you need to play final fantasy before 7?
Nope. There are some references and plot points that will make more sense if you've played FF7 original but imo it's not essential.
