You will not be able to save once you start. Once you're in the trials, remember to take out the most dangerous enemies (ie: ranged enemies) first before going after the rest. Use your weapons wisely! The Woodcutter's Axe is perfect for destroying crates and barrels, but not effective in regular combat.

Swords deal attack damage but almost nothing else. However, axes effectively break wood and can deal significant attack damage. Using it as a weapon does diminish its durability a lot faster, but it is at least viable, whereas using a shovel to mine stone is not.
