It is weak against flying type because fighting type pokemons imitate the fighting style of humans, just like Hitmonlee (a parody of Bruce Lee) and Hitmonchan (a parody of Jackie Chan). And it does make sense that humans can't fight those things that are flying because we humans can't fly.
