How do i get serana to follow me again?

At the completion of 'Touching the Sky', her option to follow you will be reenabled. She will still appear at quest locations as she is needed. To fix this issue, either load a save before 'Beyond Death' and tell her to follow, or wait until after 'Touching the Sky' is complete.

Since you have already started a Serana-quest (and she be all "You ain't leavin' me behind") she won't leave to be replaced by a Companions member, so you will end up with two followers. Finish said Companions quest. When the Companions member leaves you will have one extra follower slot available.
